CONNECTING COMMUNITIES
With a commitment to helping youth reach their potential, promoting healthy living, and fostering a sense of social responsibility, the Y ensures that every individual has access to the essentials needed to learn, grow, and thrive.
CHANGING LIVES
CREATING BONDS
The Y is a powerful association of men, women, and children of all ages from all walks of life, joined together by a shared passion: to strengthen the foundations of community.
WITH YOU THROUGH IT ALL - COVID-19 RELIEF
A health crisis puts incredible strain on our health care and infrastructure systems. With limited child care, parents are often forced to choose between work and providing necessary child care. This is hard for any parent, especially parents in health care services – as missing a day of work may mean less hands providing life-saving care and essential services to members of our community who need it most. Since the onset of the pandemic the Maui Family YMCA has provided much needed child care to our hardworking Health Care and Essential Workers. Check out all the work your Y has done throughout this crisis including offering free meals for kids, and even a community garden program.
DO YOU KNOW THE Y?
- The Y directs physical education programs at select schools across Maui.
- The Y provides life-style changes through our Diabetes Prevention and Parkinson’s Programs.
- The Y teaches over 700 water safety classes annually.
- The Y donates over $140,000 in scholarships annually
Your support makes sure no child or family is turned away due to the inability to pay.
THE NEED
A healthy community depends on strong connections between residents of all ages, and shared opportunities to play, exercise, and socialize. Our Y provides just that, and that’s why…
Our YOUTH need it. We provide camps during all school breaks when kids are looking for activities to do, or when parents need childcare during work days. We provide them with a place to connect with strong role models and be inspired to achieve their personal best academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.
Our FAMILIES need it. The Y is a gathering place to connect and feel part of a community. From developing skills or emotional well-being, to welcoming and connecting diverse people, to advocating for healthier communities, the Y fosters care and respect that all people need and deserve.
Your Support Makes a Better Us Possible
- $100 will provide a child the opportunity to gain new skills and confidence at the Y’s Day Camps
- $250 will provide a family an opportunity for healthy lifestyle choices by becoming a Y member
- $500 will provide life-saving skills in the water for parent and child through group and private swim lessons
- $1,500 will provide physical education in Maui Elementary Schools thereby inspiring 700 children
Our SENIORS need it. It is never too late to begin the goal of healthy living. Seniors are provided the opportunity to engage in activities that focus on core, balance, strength and flexibility.
Our COMMUNITIES need the Y. At the Y, we believe that we have something special. A sense of community that brings people together and connect people of all ages and backgrounds. When you are a member of the Y, you are a part of a community that transforms lives. Community lives in our group fitness classes, swim classes, and all the other programs that are offered at the Y. The Y provides support and opportunities that empower people and communities to learn, grow, and thrive.
WHY WE LOVE THE Y
“We would like to thank the YMCA for providing us with the best place to work out. The Welcome Center Staff are friendly and accommodating and the instructors we have had are A-1. The staff gets to know you as a member and are always willing to help. We have been members since 1993 and are still going strong! Thank you for bringing out the best in us. We’d like to stay strong in mind, body, and spirit! It’s also a great place to socialize with a nice cup of hot coffee.”

“My wife and I were members of the Y in California in the late 70’s and loved the family aspect of the people and the organization itself. We became gym bums and did not want to go home at night. When the Maui Y started building the Weight Room and Racquetball Courts, we donated to the construction and were members for a little while then. When our son started working at the Skate Park, we became members in 2000 and we’ve been members ever since. We are hooked on the YMCA and its values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. We will be members for life!”
