Camp Counselor – Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter
The Maui Family YMCA is hiring Camp Counselors for our Summer Camp programs in Kahului, Kihei, and Lahaina.
We’re looking for dependable, positive, and energetic team members who enjoy working with youth and helping create a safe, fun, and well-organized camp experience. Camp Counselors play an important role in supervising children, leading activities, supporting daily routines, and helping make summer camp a positive experience for campers and families.
This is a great fit for someone who works well with kids, brings good energy to a team, and can help create a structured and engaging environment throughout the day.
Pay: $16/hour. Approximately 25–30 hours per week
- Supervise and engage a group of campers throughout the day
- Help create a safe, positive, and organized camp environment
- Lead and support games, activities, crafts, and group recreation
- Assist with transitions, routines, and daily camp flow
- Use positive behavior guidance and help maintain clear expectations
- Communicate well with fellow staff and camp leadership
- Support setup, cleanup, attendance, and general camp operations
- Serve as a positive role model for youth
- Experience working with children is preferred
- Reliable, professional, and able to work well as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to be active and engaged
- Able to help lead groups and support program expectations
- Must be able to pass required background checks
Summer seasonal position, Monday through Friday. Schedules may vary based on site needs in Kahului, Kihei, or Lahaina. Additional training may be required before camp begins.

Summer Camp Site Coordinator – Kihei Elementary
The Maui Family YMCA is seeking dependable, organized, and confident Site Coordinators to support our Summer Camp program at Kihei Elementary.
We are currently hiring for two Site Coordinator positions: one opener and one closer. These roles are ideal for individuals with strong leadership skills who enjoy working with youth, supporting staff, and helping run a safe, engaging, and well-organized camp program.
Site Coordinators play a key role in daily camp operations, staff oversight, family communication, and creating a positive experience for campers, families, and staff. We are looking for team members who are professional, solution-oriented, and able to lead with consistency, good judgment, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Pay: $22.50/hour. Approximately 30–35 hours per week
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the summer camp site
- Supervise and support camp staff throughout the program day
- Help create a safe, structured, and positive environment for campers
- Manage daily attendance, sign-in/sign-out, and site logistics
- Communicate clearly with families, staff, and YMCA leadership
- Support activity flow, transitions, behavior guidance, and problem-solving
- Ensure camp policies, procedures, and safety expectations are followed
- Assist with planning, setup, cleanup, and overall site organization
- Experience working with children in a school, camp, childcare, or youth program setting required
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage a team and maintain a positive program culture
- Dependable, professional, and able to take initiative
- Must be able to pass required background checks

Program Specialist – Summer Camp
Looking to turn what you love into something meaningful this summer? The Maui Family YMCA is bringing back Specialty Camps, and we’re looking for energetic, creative individuals to lead high-interest, skill-based programs for youth.
These are not traditional camp roles, we’re looking for people who can teach what they’re passionate about and create engaging, hands-on experiences for kids. Each specialty camp runs weekly in 3–4 hour blocks, giving you the opportunity to lead your own program while being supported by YMCA staff. Opportunity to continue year round into A+ Afterschool Programs, Saturday YMCA Youth Programs, and other School Break / Intersession Camps.
Pay: $18.50/hour. Approximately 15–20 hours per week
