
Camp Counselor – Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter
The Maui Family YMCA is hiring Camp Counselors for our Summer Camp programs in Lahaina.
We’re looking for dependable, positive, and energetic team members who enjoy working with youth and helping create a safe, fun, and well-organized camp experience. Camp Counselors play an important role in supervising children, leading activities, supporting daily routines, and helping make summer camp a positive experience for campers and families.
This is a great fit for someone who works well with kids, brings good energy to a team, and can help create a structured and engaging environment throughout the day.
Pay: $16/hour. Approximately 25–30 hours per week
- Supervise and engage a group of campers throughout the day
- Help create a safe, positive, and organized camp environment
- Lead and support games, activities, crafts, and group recreation
- Assist with transitions, routines, and daily camp flow
- Use positive behavior guidance and help maintain clear expectations
- Communicate well with fellow staff and camp leadership
- Support setup, cleanup, attendance, and general camp operations
- Serve as a positive role model for youth
- Experience working with children is preferred
- Reliable, professional, and able to work well as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to be active and engaged
- Able to help lead groups and support program expectations
- Must be able to pass required background checks
Summer seasonal position, Monday through Friday. Schedules may vary based on site needs in Kahului, Kihei, or Lahaina. Additional training may be required before camp begins.

Program Specialist – Summer Camp
Looking to turn what you love into something meaningful this summer? The Maui Family YMCA is bringing back Specialty Camps, and we’re looking for energetic, creative individuals to lead high-interest, skill-based programs for youth.
These are not traditional camp roles, we’re looking for people who can teach what they’re passionate about and create engaging, hands-on experiences for kids. Each specialty camp runs weekly in 3–4 hour blocks, giving you the opportunity to lead your own program while being supported by YMCA staff. Opportunity to continue year round into A+ Afterschool Programs, Saturday YMCA Youth Programs, and other School Break / Intersession Camps.
Pay: $18.50/hour. Approximately 15–20 hours per week

- Gain leadership and program development experience
- Experience working with youth preferred (not required for the right candidate)
- Strong interest or background in your specialty area
- Reliable, positive, and able to lead a group
- Ability to pass background check
June – July (Summer Camp Season) Weekly program blocks (3–4 hours per day)
